HEADLAMP GUIDE

EXTREME SPORTS

Choose the right headlamp for extreme sports

For extreme sports like snowmobiling, enduro, downhill MTB, and other adrenaline-fueled activities at high speed, a regular headlamp just won’t cut it. Silva Ignite is designed to deliver maximum light output – a full 10,000 lumens – and to withstand tough conditions with cold, wind, and impact. Here, reliable performance and brutally strong brightness are key to both safety and experience, whether you’re riding full speed across snowy plains or down technical trails in the dark.

Tips when choosing a headlamp for extreme sports

BRIGHTNESS

3000 lumens is the starting point for high-speed activities in demanding terrain, while 10,000 lumens turns night into day and gives you full control of the terrain.

BURN TIME & WEIGHT

Powerful headlamps consume more battery. For Free 3000 we recommend the largest L battery. Ignite comes with a powerful battery included. Place the battery in your backpack or on the bike frame, and keep it warm to extend burn time in cold conditions.

Maximum light requires cooling

Keep in mind that powerful lamps need cooling to perform optimally. At high speeds, airflow helps the lamp deliver maximum lumens, but when standing still it will automatically dim to protect against overheating.

Find your setup

With the Free Helmet Mount Kit or Ignite Helmet Mount you can place the lamp on your helmet so the beam follows your gaze. Or mount it on the handlebar with the Free Bar Mount Kit or Ignite Bar Mount to light up the trail ahead.
