OUR JOURNEY TOWARDS A MORE SUSTAINABLE FUTURE

We, who work at Silva, are people with thoughts, reflections, hopes, and beliefs about our future, our climate, and our surroundings. Together, we strive to navigate towards initiatives and improvements that contribute to a more sustainable operation, industry, and world. This can involve both large and small initiatives, internal projects, or collaborations with external partners and suppliers.

OUR RESPONSIBILITY

Quality and reliability have been guiding principles for Silva's products from the very beginning. However, today, it's not enough to lean back and rely on our history. We must think in new ways, do things differently, make choices that are better for the environment and for us as people, and we must do it quickly.

WHERE CAN WE MAKE THE MOST IMPACT?

Together with Climate Hero, we continuously analyze and evaluate what in our operations and our products has the most significant negative impact, but also what opportunities we have to make choices that can have positive effects on the environment or people. To identify these areas, we look at the entire product lifecycle – from product design and production to end-use and ultimately the recycling of our products.

We have then chosen to categorize all improvement initiatives within the three areas: design, production, and care.

Our greatest opportunity to influence — and yet our biggest challenge — is to collaborate with our suppliers and set visions, and goals, and to do follow-ups that contribute to creating positive change for both people and the environment.

OUR PROMISE

Our overarching goal is clear. By 2030, we aim to reduce our greenhouse gas emission intensity by 60%*. We also intend to decrease our environmental impact at every stage and increase our positive impact on people and the environment.

We have made and continue to make mistakes. However, we strive to learn from them, to evolve, and adapt. Our commitment to ourselves and you is to be curious and open to change and to do what we currently know is best for our shared future.
