HEADLAMP GUIDE

Water activities

Choose the right headlamp for Water activities

For kayaking, stand up paddle boarding (SUP), sailing, and fishing, waterproofing is essential. A good headlamp makes your adventure both safer and easier – you see where you’re going, can handle your gear, and keep your hands free even in the dark. Once you start using a headlamp, you’ll quickly discover more uses, from navigating on the water to packing up your kayak at dusk.

Tips when choosing a headlamp for Water activities

BRIGHTNESS

500–700 lumens is suitable for kayaking, SUP, sailing, and fishing in the dark. On open water, during longer night trips, or at higher speeds, more lumens can add extra safety.

BURN TIME & WEIGHT

Longer trips require generous burn time. Choose a model with a rechargeable battery that can easily be topped up via powerbank between stages.

Waterproof according to IP68

Choose a waterproof – not just water-resistant – model to be on the safe side. Our waterproof models meet the IP68 standard and withstand submersion in water down to 1.5 m for 30 minutes.

Map-reading mode

Some of our models feature a red light mode that preserves your night vision and an orange mode that is optimal for map reading since it reduces reflections.
