The world’s best ultra-runners will be challenged to a 300km or 100km route taking in the most iconic UK National Parks following Wainwrights infamous Coast to Coast route.
Cross the entire Lake District or the entire country via mountains, valley’s, and moors.

The Northern Traverse 300km

A 300km Ultra following Wainwright’s Coast to Coast route from St Bees to Robin Hoods Bay. The route traverses the north of England from the west coast to the east coast through three National Parks; The Lake District, The Yorkshire Dales, and The North York Moors. Taking in iconic mountains, valleys, moors and 6,500m of ascent, the SILVA Northern Traverse is one of the most spectacular ultra-races in the world.

The Lakes Traverse 100km

A 100km Ultra following Wainwright’s Coast to Coast route from St Bees to Shap. This race crosses the entire width of the Lake District and starts with the SILVA Northern Traverse in St. Bees. The route traverses Ennerdale, Borrowdale, over Grasmere Common, past Grisedale Tarn, through Patterdale, over Kidsty Pike and along Haweswater into Shap. This is a challenging yet beautiful ultra, and a great steppingstone for those aspiring to enter the SILVA Northern Traverse.
